Standards for groundwater data exchange

Our data model was inspired by those standards.

Geography Markup Language
- WaterML – OGC standard
  - GWML2 (Ground Water Markup Language v. 2) builds on other OGC standards: O&M and GeoSciML. It does not have a controlled vocabulary.
Observations Data Model 2 (ODM2) – hydrology etc. Has a controlled vocabulary. Many sw tools available.
EU directive INSPIRE (INfrastructure for SPatial InfoRmation in Europe). D2.8.II.4 INSPIRE Data Specification on Geology – Technical Guidelines. Geology (+ hydrogeology a geophysics).
BoreholeML – German XML standard for borehole data exchange. It is based on XML export eEarth.
National Groundwater Information System: Data Model. Australian Government: Bureau of Meteorology.
EarthDataModels.org was meant to be a cotallogue of data models
